Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. (Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical) / MBA in Materials Management / Supply Chain Management / PG Diploma in Materials Management / SCM. B.E./B.Tech. (Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical). MBA in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, PG Diploma in Materials Management / SCM. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Global & Strategic Procurement and Import, preferably handling mechanical equipment, engineering spares, critical components and project materials, Proven experience in international sourcing and supplier development, including identification, evaluation, qualification and development of overseas suppliers, and building long-term supplier relationships for competitive pricing, quality, reliability and continuous improvement.. Hands-on experience in end-to-end import and inbound logistics, including shipment planning, freight/transport coordination, shipping-line coordination, customs clearance, CHA handling, port operations and delivery of imported materials to plant/project sites, Responsible for procurement of critical and long-lead engineering items from overseas suppliers within approved budgets and timelines, ensuring timely availability for operations, maintenance and project requirements, Strong experience in technical-commercial evaluation, price negotiation and finalization of Purchase Orders, contracts, agreements and commercial terms & conditions, Sound understanding of contractual and commercial risk management, including warranties, guarantees, liquidated damages, force majeure, insurance, claims, penalties, liabilities and other risk-mitigation measures.. Thorough knowledge of international procurement and import procedures, including Incoterms, Letter of Credit (LC), advance/open-account payment terms, customs formalities, HS classification, import documentation and applicable customs duty/tax structure, Should have good knowledge of domestic procurement, taxation, statutory requirements and contract management for supply and services, wherever applicable.. Coordinate with Finance/Accounts and internal stakeholders for timely processing of supplier payments as per contractual terms and established company procedures, Monitor long-lead, critical items, identify potential procurement, manufacturing, shipping and logistics risks, and take proactive corrective actions to ensure timely delivery, Strong negotiation, analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical solutions and achieve cost optimization without compromising quality, reliability or delivery timelines, Ability to manage multiple procurement priorities and competing requirements, with strong planning, coordination, organizational and time-management skills.. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with overseas suppliers, consultants, OEMs, freight forwarders, CHA, shipping lines and cross-functional internal teams, Working knowledge of SAP/SRM is mandatory, particularly for PR/PO processing, procurement transactions, supplier management, order tracking and related Materials Management activities, Should be willing to closely coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, Finance, Stores, Logistics and other user departments for timely procurement and receipt of engineering materials.. For the Officer (Purchase)- Import post, candidates need a B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical engineering, or an MBA in Materials Management/Supply Chain Management, or a PG Diploma in Materials Management/SCM..
