Qualification
. A good academic record with at least55% marks(or equivalent grade) at the Master's degree level in the relevant subject from a recognized Indian University, or an equivalent foreign degree recognized by the Government of India.. A5% relaxation(55% to 50%) at the Master's level is available for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates and for Physically/Visually Handicapped candidates.. A5% relaxationis also available to Ph.D. holders who completed their Master's degree before September 1991.. Candidates must havecleared NET (UGC/CSIR) or an equivalent test accredited by HPPSC, such as SLET/SET, since NET/SLET remains the minimum eligibility condition for Assistant Professor recruitment.. Ph.D. holders are exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement, provided their Ph.D. was awarded in regular mode, evaluated by at least two external examiners, included an open viva-voce, and is supported by at least two published research papers (one in a refereed journal) plus two conference presentations from the Ph.D. work.. Candidates whoqualified SET-2026are also eligible to apply, and the application window will be reopened for them if the SET-2026 result is declared after the regular closing date..
