Good academic record with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent grade of B in the 7-point scale (letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E, F), at the Master's degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign university.. NET is compulsory for candidates with a Master's degree, along with one publication in a NAAS-rated refereed journal, for disciplines in which NET is conducted.. NET can be waived for candidates holding a Ph.D. completed with course work as prescribed by UGC Regulation 2009, provided they have at least two full-length publications with a NAAS rating of not less than 4 as on the last date of application submission, Ph.D. holders without course work do not qualify for NET exemption..
