The candidate must be a resident of the same Gram Sabha/Ward (urban area) for which the post is vacant, If no eligible candidate is available from that Gram Sabha, a permanent resident of the corresponding Nyaya Panchayat may be considered.. Selection priority is also governed by a defined merit order relating to BPL status and marital condition (widowed/divorced/abandoned women), as detailed in the notification's Selection Priority clause..
