That’s how long teacher aspirants in Madhya Pradesh have been sitting on the streets; not for protest, but for a future. They’re not asking for handouts. They’re demanding 25,000 teacher posts; a number that could change classrooms across the state. What started as a peaceful sit-in outside the DPI has now turned into a nightly blockade at Roshanpura, with traffic snarled and police barricades in place. The core demand? 3,000 posts per subject in Class-2, and 25,000 in Class-3. Simple math; but a massive ask in a system that’s often slow to move. The protesters say they’ll keep going until a *written government order* is issued. None has come yet. What’s quietly powerful here isn’t just the number; it’s the patience. 56 nights. No signs of backing down. These are not jobless rebels; they’re graduates, trained educators, waiting for a system to recognize their readiness. This isn’t just about jobs. It’s about education. If classrooms stay understaffed, learning suffers. If teachers aren’t hired, who teaches the kids? The government hasn’t blinked yet. But 56 days is a long time to ignore someone who’s willing to sit; and wait; for a system to fix itself.
