Lilian Nelima Buluma, from Friends School Kamusinga, is accused of demanding KSh100,000 each from three job seekers. Half the money; KSh150,000; was reportedly sent via M-Pesa. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission nabbed her after tip-offs. She now faces charges under Kenya’s Anti-Bribery Act. What’s wild? She didn’t even work in hiring; she just pretended she did. This isn’t just corruption; it’s preying on desperate people. For unemployed teachers, a job means survival. And someone weaponized that hope for profit. The bigger lesson? If someone offers you a job in exchange for cash; run. Not just for ethics, but for your future. Because real opportunities don’t come with price tags; they come with paperwork, interviews, and transparency. Stay sharp. Stay safe.
