She wasn’t alone. 16 others, including fellow journalists and YouTubers, were picked up for simply camping outside a police station to demand justice. This happened during protests against the Chief Election Commissioner over alleged voter list tampering. Police say they violated prohibitory orders; but critics are asking: Why detain the victim for demanding action? Three women have come forward with harassment claims, and while police say the complaints are now with the Crime Branch, the optics are damaging. Meanwhile, a CISF constable was slashed with a knife during another protest nearby; adding more fuel to a rapidly escalating crisis. The Cockroach Janta Party has backed the journalists, accusing police of manhandling detainees; though police deny it. What’s clear: the situation isn’t just about protests or police orders. It’s about who gets heard; and who gets silenced; when power is challenged. In a city that prides itself on democratic protests, this feels like a new turning point. #DelhiProtests #JournalismUnderThreat #PoliceHarassment #CECControversy #FreePress
