After 62 hours of hunger strike, 26 teacher candidates in Bangladesh halted their protest — not because they got what they wanted, but because they were told to fill out individual applications.

Yes, you read that right. Recommended for government teaching jobs. No appointment letters. No explanation. Just a hunger strike… and then a form. The Directorate of Primary Education finally responded; promising to review cases “afresh” and forward them to the Ministry. But here’s the catch: no timeline. No process clarity. Just a deadline; end of October. If nothing happens, the protest resumes. These aren’t fresh graduates. Many have waited months, some even years. And now they’re back to square one; pen in hand, hope in heart, stomach still empty. What’s really delaying these appointments? And why does it always take a hunger strike to get a government to act? The real test isn’t the form; it’s whether the system finally treats them like professionals, not paperwork. #TeacherProtest #GovernmentJobs #EducationSystem #Bangladesh
