The real story? A 31-year-old IIT grad turned Assistant Engineer who got her job through a transparent, AI-supported system. She told me: “I didn’t know a single MLA. I didn’t pay anyone. I just cleared the exam.” That’s the vibe now in Assam; appointment letters are being shared proudly on Instagram, not hidden in drawers. The CM says 40% of state employees are under 40, and they’re being pushed to upgrade skills via iGOT; which Assam is leading in nationally. Even the Co-operative Bank, once on life support, is now profitable with 175 new hires. The twist? Some young officers who once railed against corruption are now getting caught taking bribes; and the CM is warning them: “No more excuses.” If you’re a job seeker in Assam, or even just watching the system evolve, this is your moment to pay attention. Merit isn’t just a buzzword here; it’s becoming a culture.
