At the 2026 World Teachers’ Day event, he didn’t just thank educators; he announced that eligible teachers who’ve reached Director level could soon be appointed as Permanent Secretaries. That’s a rare leap; from classroom to top bureaucracy. Teachers usually hit a ceiling at Director. But now, if you’ve got the experience and the paperwork, you could be managing ministries instead of managing 40 students. He also confirmed that while retirement stays at 60, you can stay longer; if you want to, and if you still have what it takes. And let’s not forget; he’s already rolling out free education up to Senior Secondary, building smart schools, and giving teachers everything from speedboats to shuttle buses. The big question: Will this set a trend for other states? Because if Anambra can give teachers a real shot at top government roles; maybe others will too. Teachers aren’t just shaping students. They might soon be shaping policies.
