Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish made it clear: the world can’t keep running on rules written in 1945. With 60% of the global population, Asia-Pacific has just one permanent voice. India’s calling for expansion in *both* permanent and non-permanent slots; and yes, they want veto power too, if it’s still around. The real kicker? Harish pointed out that over 2.5 million Indians fought in WWII, and 90,000 died; yet their voice was never built into the UN’s core. The current system, he says, was made “by the victors, for the victors.” India’s message: it’s time to include the rest of the world; or risk the UN losing relevance entirely. This isn’t just diplomacy; it’s a demand for justice, equity, and a future shaped by today’s realities, not yesterday’s wars.
