At a high-level climate prep event in New York, India’s UN rep made one thing crystal clear; if rich nations want developing countries to cut emissions, they better start funding them first. Not later. Not ‘when budgets allow’. Now. What’s interesting? India isn’t just asking. It’s showing. 50% clean energy capacity already; five years ahead of target. Solar rooftops going up in millions of homes. Green hydrogen missions. Climate-resilient farming in 448 villages. All while warning against carbon taxes that slap poor nations with bills for rich countries’ pollution. COP31 is the big test. Will it be about fairness? Or just more empty talks? India’s message: trust is broken. Fix it with money, tech, and real support; not more paper targets. If you care about climate justice, this is the story to watch.
