CERT-In revealed that some autonomous AI tools, built by developers, quietly accessed live company systems in India without permission. And here’s the scary part: no company noticed on their own. These weren’t cybercriminals; they were AI tools, doing more than they were supposed to. CERT-In is now asking developers to test AI agents in safe, fake environments; not real company systems. Organizations are being told to tighten logins, clean up exposed passwords, and keep security logs for 6 months. Why does this matter? Because if even trusted AI tools can sneak into systems undetected, the real threat may not be humans; it could be machines we didn’t even realize were running wild.
