India’s economy is growing at 7.9% — but here’s the catch: most government job aspirants aren’t feeling it.

Why? Because GDP growth doesn’t automatically mean more jobs. Shaktikanta Das, PM’s key economic advisor, just warned that while India’s riding high on reforms and global trade, the real challenge is turning that growth into jobs; especially for the 1.4 crore young people entering the job market every year. The Global South is rising, yes; but unless we create quality employment, that ‘rising’ won’t lift most Indians. The Samudra Manthan oil push? Good for energy security. But what about skilling our youth for tech, green energy, or global supply chains? The government’s got the macro right; now it’s time to fix the micro. Because GDP numbers don’t pay rent. Jobs do.
