And it’s starting with Nepal; and quietly, China. Professor Anil Kumar Mohapatra didn’t just suggest cooperation; he demanded it. Not bilateral. Not optional. Trilateral. Because when the Bhote Koshi floods swept across borders last year, no passport saved lives. No flag stopped the mud. Mohapatra’s vision? A Himalayan Climate Task Force; India, Nepal, China; working as one. Why this matters: because the Himalayas don’t care about politics. They’re melting. Rivers are bursting. And millions live downstream. This isn’t about foreign policy; it’s about survival. And if Balen Shah’s UN proposal gets traction, we might just see the most unexpected climate alliance in Asia. The real win? Not diplomacy; but disaster-proofing our future.
