🚀 In a recent test, scientists sent ultra-secure quantum signals over 5.56 km between BISAG-N and IIT Gandhinagar. Why does this matter? Because the next step is launching quantum tech into orbit; to protect defence secrets, banking data, and national infrastructure from cyberattacks. Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) doesn’t just encrypt data; it *detects* if someone’s eavesdropping. Think of it like a sealed letter that self-destructs if tampered with. Dr. N Sivasubramanian, ex-ISRO scientist, says India’s 6,000-crore National Quantum Mission is pushing hard to catch up with China and Japan. Satellite-based quantum links could soon connect Sriharikota to Thiruvananthapuram; and beyond. The goal? A nationwide secure network within 5 years. For aspirants eyeing DRDO, ISRO, or cybersecurity roles; this is the future you’re training for.
