That’s 338 applicants per seat. The government claims to have skilling programmes for 7.6 crore people; yet most don’t even know these exist. Why? Poor awareness, high cost, and lack of quality. Schools? Only 1 in 12 offer vocational training, despite NEP 2020’s promise to make it half by 2025. Skilling isn’t just certificates; it’s about preparing youth for real jobs. And right now, the system isn’t ready. If we don’t fix this, we’re not just losing jobs; we’re wasting potential.
