But someone made a fake AI video saying he did; and it went viral. Twice. First, during NEET protests in July. Then again in October, during CJP’s Delhi rally. Same trick, new crowd. Delhi Police had to fact-check it; not once, but multiple times. Jha himself warned students: 480 Pakistan-based handles were pushing misinformation. His real message? Don’t believe everything you see. The fake clip showed him saying, “I won’t lie anymore, so I’m quitting.” Total fabrication. Police traced the fake posts to Facebook, Instagram, X; and even requested IP addresses to see if they were run from Pakistan. That’s how serious this got. Jha, a 2017 AGMUT batch IPS officer from Bihar, is currently DCP Delhi. He’s not resigning. He’s fighting digital misinformation; the quiet war behind every protest. Lesson? If it’s dramatic, viral, and feels too emotional to be true; check the source. Because the next fake video might not be about an IPS officer. It could be about you.
