Not just visit. Not just plant a flag. Come back. Alive. That’s not sci-fi. That’s a national deadline. And it’s only 21 years away. Former ISRO director R Hutton said this at a space exhibition in Coimbatore; casually, almost like it’s just another milestone. But think about it: we’re building a space station, prepping Gaganyaan for 2028, and upgrading launch pads in Kulasekarapatnam. All of this is laying the foundation for that 2047 Moon return. For students watching rocket models and asking questions; this isn’t just about jobs or exams. It’s about being part of a generation that could witness India’s first lunar astronaut return home. And if you’re studying physics, engineering, or even computer science; this timeline means opportunities are coming. Fast. The Moon isn’t just a destination anymore. It’s a deadline. And ISRO is counting down.
