₹11 lakh crore. That’s the combined loan book of PFC and REC after their proposed merger, now one step closer after RBI’s nod. For context, that’s bigger than the entire GDP of some countries. And it’s not just about size; this is a power sector financing giant being born, set to reshape how India funds its energy infrastructure. The share swap? 88 PFC shares for every 100 REC shares. Simple maths, huge implications. Investors are watching. Borrowers in the power sector are watching. And so should job seekers; because mega-mergers like this often trigger organizational reshuffles, new roles, and sometimes even recruitment drives in merged entities. This isn’t just finance news; it’s a signal of where India’s infrastructure priorities are heading.
