This isn’t just about cleaning roads; it’s a direct fight against rising air pollution. With 13 more mechanical sweepers covering 157 km of highways and 9.8 lakh plants recently planted (beating target!), NHAI is going all-in. Alok Deepankar, Member (Technical), personally reviewed the operations, stressing strict compliance with CAQM norms and GRAP stages. Road dust contributes significantly to PM2.5; and this initiative could make mornings in Delhi slightly more breathable. The real win? A 90%+ survival rate for newly planted trees; proof that it’s not just about enforcement, but lasting environmental impact.
