What’s even more fascinating? She was born in Sweden, spent her childhood in Ahmednagar, studied in Gothenburg and Madrid, and worked at PwC before becoming an authorized public accountant. At 41, she’s now a Member of Parliament; and she’s been with the Green Party for 25 years. Her grandfather, Union minister Balasaheb Vikhe Patil, used to make her read state budgets at 15. Today, she wants to be a voice for kids who can’t vote; and fight for clean water, green spaces, and a planet that doesn’t burn. Her win is quiet proof that roots don’t limit wings; especially when those roots are deeply Indian.
