Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is set to inaugurate the BRICS Traditional and Indigenous Sports Games in Ahmedabad on October 12; but this isn’t your usual sports meet. No medals. No rankings. Just pure cultural exchange. India’s Mallakhamb, Yogasana, and Kalaripayattu will take center stage alongside China’s Wushu, Brazil’s Capoeira, and Russia’s Sambo. The goal? Preservation, not competition. What’s surprising? This event isn’t just about showcasing sports; it’s a diplomatic tool. Bilateral meetings are scheduled on the sidelines, hinting at deeper collaborations in sports policy and heritage conservation. For job seekers eyeing sports, youth affairs, or cultural diplomacy, this signals a growing focus on indigenous knowledge systems; and future job openings in documentation, event management, and international sports coordination. The biggest takeaway? India’s traditional sports might finally get the global platform they deserve; and that means new career paths you hadn’t considered.
