Three auctions. Four years of legal chaos. What started as a simple land auction for a nursing home in Chandigarh turned into a judicial maze; with the Supreme Court now ordering a *fourth* auction. Here’s the twist: Bedi Hospital paid ₹12.58 crore in 2022, but the UT cancelled it, saying the price was too low. They re-auctioned at ₹18.25 crore; and someone else won. Then the High Court said, “Wait, Bedi was rightful winner.” The SC stepped in; and found a shocking gap: ₹6 crore difference. Bedi even offered to match the higher price. But instead of picking a winner, the SC said: ‘Start again.’ Why does this matter to you? Because if even land auctions; basic government functions; get stuck in court loops, imagine the delays in your own file, your permit, your exam result. This isn’t just about one hospital. It’s about how judicial overreach in commercial matters can freeze systems for years; and cost taxpayers, bidders, and public projects dearly. The real lesson? Some decisions don’t need more courts. They need clarity; and closure.
