One promise. And 3,000 teachers waiting for justice. In Tripura, hundreds of TET-1 qualified teachers had camped outside Siksha Bhavan; not for days, but because they were told to wait ‘after Durga Puja’. That’s how long it’s taken for a government to give a timeline for jobs. Their protest? Not about salary. Not about perks. Just one thing; a merit list. A clear date. A promise kept. The CM heard them. And made a promise; but not a solution. Just a pause. The real issue? A court case. A single disputed answer key question that could rewrite the entire merit list. 3,000 candidates affected. One legal delay holding up careers. Meanwhile, TET-2 teachers got their appointment letters. Same exam. Different outcome. That’s the irony no policy memo can fix. This isn’t just about Tripura. It’s about every state where qualified teachers wait years; not because they failed, but because the system can’t move. And you thought education was a priority?
