At the UPSC’s 100-year celebration, he said exams must now test WHY someone wants to serve; not just HOW much they know. Think about it: if you’re applying to be an IAS officer, should your motivation matter as much as your score? He also stressed "Nation First, Citizen First"; meaning future civil servants must be empathetic, tech-savvy, and ready to serve villages just as much as cities. What’s more? Women candidates are now over 30%; up from just 3% in 1952. That’s progress. And with AI changing how citizens expect things done, Modi wants the bureaucracy to keep up. Slow, rigid systems? Not anymore. The message is clear: UPSC isn’t just picking smart people; it’s picking the right kind of leaders for 2047. If you’re preparing, this changes everything.
