The SC has issued notice to the ECI and its commissioners, and notably, CJI Surya Kant orally remarked that “one petitioner has to explain his conduct”; a hint at the controversy around Gandhi’s march to the SC that caused commotion. Their petition seeks to halt the SIR, demand transparency, and even constitution of a judicial committee to audit deletions. Meanwhile, AIMIM’s Owaisi and Congress’s Digvijaya Singh have also filed separate pleas. The Court declined Gandhi’s request for a personal meeting with the CJI, saying such matters must be addressed through judicial channels. With elections looming and voter lists under scrutiny, this legal battle could reshape how electoral revisions are supervised; or who gets held accountable for them. #ElectionCommission #SCNotice #VoterRolls #INDIABloc #RahulGandhi
