Over 1 lakh teacher posts are vacant in MP government schools. Yet, only around 15,000 are being filled right now. Thousands of candidates, many already working as guest teachers and scoring well in exams, are stuck waiting; some even crossing the age limit. Gandhi’s letter calls out the injustice: Why should aspirants protest or go on hunger strike just to get jobs they’re qualified for? He’s also asking for promotions to begin and a second round of counseling. The state’s Deputy CM says he hasn’t even seen the letter yet. If this is how serious education gaps are being handled, then maybe it’s time someone actually reads the letter; and acts on it.
