SoftBank ADR (9984) jumped 2.2% in Tokyo — but here’s what no one’s talking about: its AI bets are now worth $64.6B.

That’s not just big money; it’s risky money. With CDS spreads widening and financing costs climbing, traders are quietly worried. Why? Because SoftBank’s heavy AI exposure may be more fragile than it looks. Even after issuing $11B in high-yield bonds (yields up to 9.75%), investors are demanding higher compensation for the risk. If AI growth slows, this could get messy. Not just for SoftBank; but for everyone riding the AI wave.
