While Tanvi pushed world No. 1 An Se-young hard in the first game, the Korean’s dominance in the second showed the steep climb ahead. Treesa and Gayatri, ranked 18th, took the first game against the mighty Malaysians; only to lose steam in the decider. What’s telling? India’s top shuttlers fell early; Sindhu, Lakshya, Satwik-Chirag all ousted in Round 1. Srikanth was the only one to reach Round 2. The team now heads to the French Open, but the question lingers: can India’s next-gen close the gap against the world’s elite? The future rests not just on medals; but on consistency, depth, and mental toughness under pressure.
