The Election Commission has launched a special drive to find voters who vanished from the rolls after the recent SIR exercise — and many of them may not even realise they’re missing.

Thousands of eligible citizens, including first-time voters and those wrongly flagged as ‘dead’ or ‘shifted’, could be left out of the next elections unless they act now. Booth Level Officers are knocking on doors to verify names; but you don’t have to wait for them. If you’re unsure whether you’re still on the voter list, check online through the NVSP portal or visit your local ERO. Even if you were removed during SIR, you can still re-enrol using Form 6. The Commission says no eligible voter should be denied their right; but it’s up to you to claim it. With over 60 lakh names deleted across 9 states and 3 UTs, this isn’t just a formality. It’s a call to action for every Indian who values their vote.
