Not because of scandal, but to restore trust. Hakeem Yaseen, former minister andPDF leader, says recent controversies around the ECI aren’t just political noise; they’re shaking public faith in how India votes. He’s urging PM Modi to act, warning that if the election body seems even slightly influenced by any party, the whole system risks losing credibility. What’s interesting? He’s not attacking the ECI’s work; he’s defending the idea of it. Independence, transparency, public confidence; these aren’t buzzwords, they’re the foundation of democracy. And in a country where elections decide everything, that foundation matters more than ever. This isn’t about blame; it’s about preservation. Because once trust in elections erodes, rebuilding it takes more than a statement. It takes action.
