It’s about stopping cyber fraud and money mules; people who unknowingly (or knowingly) move stolen money. But here’s the catch: even innocent users can get caught in the net. Banks must now build clear systems for holds, explain everything to you in writing, and even resolve grievances within 30 days. No more playing hide-and-seek with customer service. The rule comes after a Supreme Court nudge; and it’s meant to protect, not inconvenience. Still, if you’re transferring cash for a job offer, a property deal, or even a family gift, make sure your transaction matches your declared income.
