Hidden in the fine print is a quiet correction that could change how thousands see their own category status. Here’s what happened: Some candidates who applied under SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ESM categories ended up qualifying under UR (Unreserved) cut-offs. The Commission initially listed them as UR; which confused many. Now, they’ve updated the lists to show BOTH the category they applied under AND the category they qualified under. Why does this matter? Because if you’re waiting to see where you stand; especially if you applied under a reserved category; your position might now look different. Not because your score changed, but because the *way your category was displayed* has been clarified. This isn’t about new marks or new candidates. It’s about transparency. A small fix, yes; but for someone who spent months preparing, knowing exactly *how* and *why* you qualified can make all the difference. Check your result now at ssc.gov.in. And if you’re confused? Don’t stress; this update doesn’t cancel your result. It just makes it clearer. Sometimes, the smallest changes carry the biggest reassurance.
