This didn’t come out of nowhere. It followed a campaign called ‘School Thik Karo’ by a small party; the Cockroach Janta Party; that went around documenting broken classrooms, missing toilets, and unsafe buildings in rural schools. In one village, their team was literally chased and beaten by locals. The petition argued this isn’t just about access; it’s about accountability. How can we know if kids are safe if no one’s allowed to see what’s really happening inside those walls? The SC didn’t hear the case. But the question remains: who benefits when school doors are locked to the public? This isn’t about politics. It’s about children.
