This corridor, to be developed under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) toll model, will significantly reduce travel time, improve road safety, and enhance connectivity between key economic, tourism, and logistics hubs in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Notably, it includes a 4.9-km Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) on the Tezpur Bypass, constructed in coordination with the Indian Air Force for strategic and civilian use. The project features five major bypasses, 15 major bridges, 30 minor bridges, 19 flyovers, one elephant underpass, and 46 underpasses to ensure smooth traffic flow and wildlife conservation. It aims to double average travel speeds, reduce vehicle operating costs, and support regional socio-economic development. This initiative is part of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, focusing on expanding high-speed infrastructure and multimodal connectivity in the North Eastern states.
