Manik Saha isn’t just watching the Village Committee election results; he’s already calling them. And what’s surprising? He’s not just talking about wins. He’s talking about peace, unity, and a state moving forward. While counting was still underway across 44 centres with security on high alert, Saha said trends were already matching NDA’s expectations. But instead of gloating, he focused on something deeper: harmony between the hills and plains. His message? This election isn’t just about who wins seats; it’s about who’s willing to build together. And he didn’t ignore the elephant in the room; past post-poll violence. He flat-out said: we don’t want that anymore. People don’t want that. And it’s everyone’s responsibility to respect the mandate. What’s the real takeaway? In a state where local polls often mirror deeper fault lines, this isn’t just about village committees. It’s about whether Tripura can turn elections into stepping stones; not flashpoints. The quiet optimism from the CM might be the biggest signal yet; this time, the people’s voice won’t just be counted. It’ll be protected.
