That’s exactly what happened in Gurugram, where the Haryana CM’s grounded chopper blocked the Tau Devi Lal Stadium track for four whole days. Hundreds of athletes; sprinters, runners, future medal hopefuls; were turned away. One founder of a local sportswear brand called it out on social media: “Their dreams can wait. The helicopter can’t.” And that post went viral. Why? Because it’s not really about one chopper. It’s about priorities. When the nation’s future athletes are sidelined for VIP convenience, something’s broken. Grassroots sports need space, respect, and uninterrupted access; not just grand promises. This isn’t just a track closure. It’s a statement; and the public is listening.
